The Australian Supercars Championship launches the Enduro Cup this weekend at the Sandown circuit. This mini-competition consists of competing in endurance races on three courses: Sandown, but also Bathurst and Surfer's Paradise in October. In order to determine the starting grid for these races, the organizers have established a qualifying race.
Thus David Reynolds and Luke Youlden (Holden) took pole position through their success in Race 2 on Saturday at Sandown. But for this, we had to fight against the canon return of Jamie Whincup (Holden) at the very end of the event.

The outgoing champion, who started 11th, overcame his opponents one by one, only to come up short by a few tenths under the checkered flag.

The only Frenchman entered in this Enduro Cup, Alexandre Prémat (Ford), will start in third place with Scott McLaughlin. The latter performed well in view of the general classification. Indeed, the championship leader, Shane van Gisbergen (Holden), only finished 11th, but it could have been worse; the New Zealander was in 18th place for a while!
The race was marked by a neutralization to free the Holden of James Courtney, stuck in the sandbox after losing a wheel in contact with the tires.
A rough end to Saturday at Sandown for Courtney.#VASC pic.twitter.com/rZ2HaIbVu8
