Hot on the heels of his pole position earlier in the morning, the 600th for Team Penske, Scott McLaughlin dominated the first Darwin Supercars round this Saturday.
The driver of the #17 Ford Mustang led the entire event after getting the best start against the Holden Commodore – Erebus Motorsport of David Reynolds and Anton de Pasquale.
What a wild start.
Let's take a breath and look at that again.#VASC pic.twitter.com/KUNJyJryNJ

A start marked by a real melee in the peloton notably involving Macauley Jones (Tim Blanchard Racing – Holden) and James Golding (GRM – Holden), before Rick Kelly (Kelly Racing – Nissan Altima) and Tim Slade (Brad Jones Racing – Holden ) also go a little further into contact.
Kelly will be penalized for the maneuver that sent Slade into the barriers, with the safety car coming into action to evacuate the damaged Holden.
Leading the way during the first stint, the outgoing champion was not worried after the pit stops, ultimately winning ahead of Chaz Mostert (Tickford Racing – Ford).
David Reynolds completes the podium ahead of Cameron Waters (Tickford Racing) and Jamie Whincup, best representative of the clan Red Bull Holden Racing.
