The Ford Mustang driver led all 25 laps on the Albert Park track and beat his teammate Fabian Coulthard (Ford) and Cameron Waters (Ford). The first Holden is only in sixth place thanks to Tim Slade.
The race was marked by the abandonment of Shane van Gisbergen (Holden). The New Zealander was close to the podium when his Holden Commodore lost engine power.
