Supercars – Alexandre Prémat fulfilled his mission

Close to his first Supercars title, New Zealander Shane van Gisbergen will once again be able to thank Alexandre Prémat in the event of a coronation, for his contribution at the wheel of the No. 97 Holden Commodore over the three rounds of the Enduro Cup.

After an excellent start to the Sandown 500, the duo came close to winning the legendary Bathurst 1000, finishing second in the wake of winners Will Davison and Jonathon Webb.

If success was denied to the Franco-Kiwi pair, the first race of the Gold Coast 600 was the opportunity to finally get on the top step of the podium. “Alex has done a fantastic job all season, admitted van Gisbergen. Working with him was a great experience. Finishing the four Enduro Cup races 2nd, 2nd, 1st then 2nd is great consistency. »

Prémat was more than satisfied at the end of these four races which allowed him to put his name on the Enduro Cup prize list, as well as his first success in the discipline. “At Sandown and Bathurst, we already deserved this victory, but we lacked the little bit of success necessary to win, the Frenchman admitted to us.

It's a championship that I love, I'm really happy to be part of it. » And thus hope to make its return in 2017, as Prémat recently confided on the Supercars website. “From year to year, it’s always different.

I am in contact with a few teams for next year, such as for an LM P2, or GT program in Europe or around the world. I am watching. I know there are always date conflicts with V8 Supercars races, and in particular Sandown.

But the number one goal is to return to Supercars and win Bathurst. My number one priority is V1 Supercars, so if I have a double schedule, so for sure if there is a date conflict I will miss a race. »
