After having worked for most of his career in F1, at Jordan, Williamsthen McLaren, Sam Michael ended his involvement in the category in 2014, and returned to his homeland in Australia.
The 45-year-old engineer had recently worked in a consulting role for Triple Eight Race Engineering, which runs under the banner of Red Bull Racing Australia the Holden Commodore of Jamie Whincup, Craig Lowndes and Shane van Gisbergen, and will now take a major place in the organizational chart of the Roland Dane structure at a time when the championship will experience a change in regulations, with the arrival of new engines and new cars (Triple Eight targeting 2018).
This arrival, which takes effect immediately, follows the announcement of the departure at the end of the current season of French engineer Ludo Lacroix (see Ah n°2084), current technical director of Triple Eight, and hired by the team for almost 17 years.
