TCR World Tour – Michelisz and Ehrlacher winners of the day in Bathurst

Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai) started from pole position in race 2 thanks to his 10th place in the previous race. Weighted down, the Hyundai driver therefore played it tactical knowing that his only chance to score big points this weekend would be to qualify well for this race 2. The Hungarian's plan went off without a hitch. However, it was Dan Cameron at the wheel of his 308 TCR who got the best start. The Australian retained control of the race until the 4th lap.

Michelisz manages to regain his first place when braking on the long straight “the Chase”. Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co) is 7th in this round, but two penalties will hit Nestor Girolami and Fred Vervisch (Audi) allowing the French to be classified 5th in this round. Rob Huff, the leader of the World Tour, ranks 4th in this round just ahead of the Alsatian. Mikel Azcona, 10th, sees his chances of fighting for the title increasingly distant (81 points behind at the end of the weekend). 

Ehrlacher wins on his favorite circuit

He had been dreaming of it for a while. Coming to race in Bathurst was a long-held wish for Yvan Muller's nephew. The weekend was complicated with an engine change, a declassification and finally the last race of the weekend which went wonderfully for the Lynk & Co driver. Winner of the last round, he won ahead of Thed Bjork and Rob Huff. the Frenchman leaves Australia co-leader of the TCR World Tour with Rob Huff, each credited with 384 points.

Norbert Michelisz is right in their aspiration with 1 point behind the Franco-British duo. These three men will meet in less than a week on the famous Macau street circuit to decide who will go to the grand final in Portimão (next March) as leader of this first season of the TCR World Tour. Cyan Racing-Lynk & Co is already in the team category.
