It was at the wheel of a Ford Mustang devoid of any sponsor that the young driver, “Wild Card”, Zak Best took pole position. In the race, he will do better than defend himself against all the big arms of Supercars. He retained the lead of the race for more than ten laps. Van Gisbergen not getting the best start is in a waiting position behind Zak Best and Cameron Waters. On the 7th lap, the Holden driver placed an unstoppable attack on Waters' Mustang, he was now second, less than a second behind leader Zak Best.
Shortly before halfway, “SvG” took control of the race at the expense of Zak Best. Cameron Waters and Anton de Pasquale (Dick Johnson Racing) rubbed against each other during a few turns but AdP was ultimately satisfied with a place in the Top 10 at the end of the 24 laps of the race. Cameron Waters, who could easily aim for the podium, made a driving error which cost him a nice haul of points. When Van Gisbergen observed his pit stop, he maintained the advantage over Will Davidson (Dick Johnson Racing) and Chaz Mostert (Walkinshaw Andretti United). He took the opportunity to set the fastest lap in the race on the last lap to take the victory, ending the Ford Mustang series there. The New Zealander shows a new face, that of a driver capable of showing patience.

No doubt Shane van Gisbergen will still be very hard to beat this weekend. On the magnificent track of The Bend near Adelaide, there are still two races to go. All Australian Supercars results can be found on Autohebdo.fr
