Charles' little brother will race in Formula Regional Europe under the colors of Prema Racing.

Arthur Leclerc joins the Ferrari Driver Academy

Ferrari now has two members of the Leclerc family in its ranks. After integrating Charles into its young pilot sector in 2016, the Team has just announced the recruitment of his little brother Arthur.

Aged 19, the Monegasque started in single-seaters in 2018 with the French F4 championship (5th in the Drivers' ranking with 2 successes) before moving to the German series last year. Author of a victory, eight podiums, and two best laps in the race, the young Leclerc finished 3rd in the championship behind Theo Pourchaire and Dennis Hauger. Arthur also wowed the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) during a series of evaluations.

He will compete this season in Formula Regional Europe and will be able to count on the expertise of the Prema Racing team, Ferrari's strong arm in the promotion formulas which notably brought Charles to the title. F2 in 2017. The young Leclerc will team up with the Brazilian Gianluca Petecof, member of the FDA since 2018

The Italian industry also announced the arrival in its ranks of Dino Beganovic, who will celebrate his 16th birthday in two days. The Swedish teenager was recommended to the FDA by Tony Kart experts after securing two national titles and impressing in the WSK Euro Series with a second place finish. The Landeryd native will make his debut in car in 2020, also with Prema Racing, at the Formula 4 level.

“It was a studious winter for the Ferrari Driver Academy, commented Laurent Mekies, sporting director of the Scuderia. We are trying to build the best preparation program for our young drivers in 2020, with an increased presence in our premises in Maranello.

With the arrival of Arthur and Dino, we now have representatives at all levels of the promotion formula pyramid. We will do everything to help them in their development.”

The two recruits will begin their training in Maranello in the second half of January and will join the 7 other members of the trans academyalpine : Mick Schumacher, Giuliano Alesi, Callum Ilott, Robert Shwartzman, Marcus Armstrong, Enzo Fittipaldi, and Petecof.
