The pilots of Formula 2 enforced their rank. Starting from the leading position, the Chinese Guanyu-Zhou (Abu Dhabi Racing Team) won Race 1 of the inaugural weekend of the F3 Asia, ahead of his F2 friends Roy Nissany (Hitech) and Jehan Daruvala (Mumbai Falcons). Thanks to his best lap in the race, Zhou took the opportunity to take pole position for Race 2.
Also starting on the front row, Pierre-Louis Chovet struggled when the lights went out and moved into fourth position after the first two turns. Despite a constant attack on Daruvala throughout the race, the Frenchman could not do better than 4th. As a reminder, he will start on pole for Race 3 this Sunday.
For his part, Isack Hadjar (Evans GP) finished 8th. Starting in 5th position, the Habs quickly fell to 13th place, before moving up five positions in the peloton. Note the great races of Dino Beganovic (5th) and the French F4 championship Ayumu Iwasa (6th).
