F4 France switches to biofuel

This is a big step forward that the FFSA has just taken in its race for carbon neutrality “by 2050” just a few days before the launch of the 2022 F4 France season. At a time when certain competitions are gradually turning towards renewable fuels, French F4 will use a biofuel this year after signing a “ technical and commercial agreement » with Repsol (a large Spanish oil group).

The collaboration between the two parties “ plans the use of 30 liters of biofuel developed and refined at the Repsol technological laboratory in Móstoles (Madrid). » This 100% renewable fuel « meets the sustainability criteria established under the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED), as well as the parameters of the “Advanced Sustainable Fuel” specification established by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). A biofuel whose formula allows a saving of greenhouse gas emissions greater than 70% compared to fossil fuels."

The FFSA and the FFM (federal formation of Le Mans) which are continuing their path towards carbon neutrality must present during the 2^e half of the year the 1st “Environmental Barometer” of motor sports.
