Nearly thirty hopefuls from the car met in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) to conduct the first of two days of FIA private testing Formula 3 this Tuesday, April 5.
It was not the winners of the two opening races in Bahrain, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) and Arthur Leclerc (Prema) who dominated the proceedings on a wet track then drying at the end of the afternoon, but the rookie Oliver Bearman. The resident of the Italian team Prema, third in the championship after Bahrain, set the best lap in 1'33''009.
On home soil, Josep Maria Marti (Campos Racing) recorded the second best time, more than six tenths behind. Victor Martins is 4th, and his compatriot Isack Hadjar (Hitech Grand Prix) is 17th. Suffering from Charcot's disease, Jonny Edgar was replaced by Oliver Rasmussen at Trident. The Dane quickly got back on his feet with the 8th fastest time.
The Italian Federico Malvestiti returned to the Dallara entered by Jenner Motorsport after a year of absence and set the 21st time.
