Bianchi continues his domination

While F3 Euro Series is approaching mid-season, Jules Bianchi is taking the measure of his opponents. The driver of the French ART Grand Prix team had already taken a nice advantage three weeks ago, on the Norisring. In Zandvoort, the Frenchman further increased his lead by winning the first race of the weekend, which earned him ten points for first place. He was joined, at the end of the 17 laps, by his teammate Valtteri Bottas, for a double for the ART Grand Prix team. The Finn got the better of Christian Vietoris and Jean-Karl Vernay, who nevertheless consolidated their second and third places in the general classification. The second Zandvoort race takes place on Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. and will distribute the final points, with six points for the winner.

During this race, everything started under a safety car, with five cars making mistakes on the warm-up lap: Tandy, Geronimi, Coletti, Mäki and Caldarelli. Following these incidents, the pole sitter was however able to maintain his position to lead the race. “ My start was not good, reacted Bianchi at the end of the race. But I knew how to keep my head, even if the race was not easy. When the safety car returned (at the end of the race, following Zanella's exit, editor's note), it irritated me because I had taken a seven-second lead. However, I am happy to have been able to bring a hundredth victory to Mercedes in F3 Euro Series. »
