Bianchi goes on the attack again

Jules Bianchi, in Portimao last weekend, has regained his health. Winner of the two races of the penultimate round of the championship F3 British, the Frenchman quickly forgot his misfortunes at Brands Hatch (accidents in qualifying and during the first race) to put himself back on the path to success. In Great Britain, the ART Grand Prix driver did not lose too many points on his most serious rival, Christian Vietoris, who went from 25 to 16 units behind.

This Friday, Jules Bianchi has already increased this gap to 17 units by scoring the pole position point, on the Barcelona circuit. After getting his bearings on the Catalan track, the Frenchman came to claim a new pole position, the fourth this season. And, above all, he managed to distance himself from his usual rivals, with Christian Vietoris only placing fifth. Bianchi will start on Saturday ahead of two "rookies", Andrea Caldarelli and Alexander Sims, who came within less than a tenth of the Frenchman's time.

Adrien Tambay, who stood out during free practice, set the fourteenth time while Jean-Karl Vernay placed twelfth. The two Finns who finished in the first two places in race 1 at Brands Hatch, Mika Mäki and Valtteri Bottas, will go quite far away. Bottas will start from seventh place while Mäki will start from eleventh position.

« I am very happy to have obtained pole although it was not easy, declared Jules Bianchi at the end of the qualifying session. I also think that tomorrow?s race will not be a cakewalk, because I have fast competitors behind me. »
