Starting from pole position, Daniel Ticktum (Motopark) was under pressure from Guan Yu Zhou (Prema Powerteam) only during the first lap but the driver Red Bull quickly took off, maintaining a lead of around 5 seconds over the rest of the field in a race on a drying track but without major incident.
The English driver easily won his first race in the European championship. F3 and crosses the line in front of Ralf Aron (Prema Powerteam), the Estonian however receiving a five-second penalty for stealing the start and finds himself classified 5e behind his teammates Zhou, Robert Shwartzman who finished best rookie, and Mick Schumacher.
Jüri Vips (Motopark) ranks 6e ahead of the Briton Enaam Ahmed (Hitech GP). Sacha fenestraz finishes as best Carlin driver with an 8e place and ahead of the Hitech GP of Ben Hingeley and the Motopark of Fabio Scherer for this first race at the Hungaroring.
