Nothing went as planned for Marcus Armstrong and Prema. Initially on pole, the New Zealander was caught by the patrol for having completed his lap by going outside the limits of the track. Like a majority of drivers, he was punished on the grid which saw Jüri Vips (Motopark) start on pole ahead of Enaam Ahmed (Hitech GP) and Jehan Daruvala (Carlin).
The Estonian takes off perfectly while Alex Palou (Hitech GP) emerges in 2e position. Mick Schumacher (Prema Racing) also got rid of Daruvala for third place while the Indian had to abandon a few hectometers later.
Dan Ticktum (Motopark) is the big beneficiary of this race with a 4e place while Armstrong finished out of the points having stalled on the grid. Ralf Aron (Prema Racing) finishes 5e ahead of Enaam Ahmed (Hitech GP) and Ferdinand Habsburg (Carlin).
Rookies Robert Shwartzman (Prema Racing) and Sacha Fenestraz (Carlin) rank 8e and 9e while Fabio Scherer (Motopark) completes the top 10.
