Eurocup: Collet wins in Race 1

We often mention the importance of getting a good start in Formula Renault, and to negotiate the first turn well. Caio Collet didn't miss any of that. Starting from the second row (P3), the Brazilian (R-Ace GP) managed his takeoff perfectly to arrive in 2nd position at the first chicane of the circuit. Pole sitter Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech) shot straight into the gravel, allowing the Auriverde driver to take the lead for good at the second turn.

The Brazilian then managed the restarts perfectly after the two interventions of the safety car following the exits of the road of Paul Aron (ART Grand Prix), first, who led David Vidales (JD Motorsport) into his fall, and of Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix), the next round. A small error from Colombo a few laps later, who rubbed shoulders with gravel, allowed Alex Quinn (Arden) to take second place and keep it until the end.

Winner of his fourth race of the season, Caio Collet carried out a great operation since beyond obtaining his fourth success of the season and the twenty-five points that go with it, he took the opportunity to take fifteen points from the championship leader, his great rival Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix). The Frenchman is only 8 points ahead at the top of the drivers' standings.

The reigning vice-champion of the category indeed finished in the same place he started the race: 5th. Staying in Franco Colapinto's exhausts throughout the race, the Frenchman almost overtook his Argentinian friend when the latter put a wheel in the gravel but the MP Motorsport driver defended perfectly in the process. Martins also finished ahead of his two French compatriots Hadrien David (MP Motorsport, 6th) and Reshad de Gerus (Arden, 7th), who confirmed their progress.
