Eurocup: Colombo on pole ahead of Martins

Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech) completely missed out on qualifying on Saturday. He didn't miss this Sunday morning. The Italian driver took pole position in the second qualifying session at the Hockenheim meeting, a week after achieving such a performance at Imola.

Deprived of an eleventh pole this season, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) will not be offended. The Frenchman is indeed carrying out a very good operation since he will start seven places ahead of his rival for the title, the Brazilian Caio Collet (R-Ace GP). The Auriverde, pole sitter and winner on Saturday, saw his qualification disrupted by a clutch problem, and only finished 9th. As a reminder, if he wants to be titled this Sunday, Martins must win the race without Collet finishing in the points.

Paul Aron (ART Grand Prix) will accompany the Colombo-Martins ticket, and will have next to him his tormentor from the day before, the Frenchman Hadrien David (MP Motorsport), who had harpooned him on the last lap. The pilot of the Renault Sport Academy has clearly raised its level for several weeks and confirms it with this great 4th place. Solid performance from Reshad de Gerus (Arden) also, qualified 8th.
