Eurocup: Lorenzo Colombo on pole for Race 1

Lorenzo Colombo (Bihaitech) ended Victor Martins' four pole positions in a row. The Italian driver in fact signed his first pole position of the year at the end of a very competitive first qualifying session, during which several drivers exchanged the best time during the twenty minutes against the clock.

But it was ultimately the Italian from the Bihaitech team who had the last word, ahead of Alex Quinn (Arden), winner of race 2 last weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. Record holder for pole over a season in the category, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) this time could not do better than 5th, after having seen his times canceled several times for having crossed the limits of the track.

Second in the championship with 23 points behind the Frenchman, Caio Collet (R-Ace GP) clocked the third fastest time of the session and will therefore start ahead of his rival Victor Martins. The two men will be separated by only Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport), also winner in Belgium of a very wet race last Friday.

Dominators last July during the first round of the Eurocup at Imola, JD Motorsport drivers William Alatalo and David Vidales qualified this time in 6th and 8th place, separated by Frenchman Hadrien David (MP Motorsport). Race 1 will take place this Saturday at 15:30 p.m., after qualifying for the F1
