Eurocup: new pole record for Martins

And 10 for Victor Martins! Fastest in the second qualifying session of the Imola meeting this Sunday, the French driver signed his tenth pole position of the season – his fifth in the last six sessions, and alone established a new record which already belonged to him and which he had matched last week.

Having passed through his qualification (5th) the day before, the ART Grand Prix driver lost fifteen points in the title race with his 5th place and the victory of his rival Caio Collet (R-Ace GP). This time, Martins will start in front and will have his Auriverde rival at his side. The battle at the first chicane promises to be beautiful.

The Brazilian driver managed to beat Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport), 3rd, into second place in the final moments of the session. After making a small mistake off in the gravel during his penultimate fast lap, Hadrien David (MP Motorsport) also managed to pull off the right lap at the right time, to finish 4th.

Behind, David Vidales (JD Motorsport), already a double winner here in July, ranks 5th, just ahead of the contingent of Arden drivers, with Ugo De Wilde ahead of Alex Quinn and the Frenchman Reshad de Gerus. Poleman on Saturday, Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech) could not do better than 10th.
