Max Verstappen (Van Amersfoort Racing) signed its fifth consecutive victory at the end of Race 2 at the Norisring disrupted by the arrival of rain. The pole sitter who won the first event of the weekend retained the advantage before the race was interrupted for the first time following contact between Richard Goddard (Threebond with T-Sport) and Felipe Guimaraes (Double R Racing). The Dutchman retained first place after the restart ahead of Tom Blomqvist (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) and Esteban Ocon (Prema Powerteam) until the arrival of rain which forced the commissioners to suspend the race.
If Max Verstappen retained control on the wet track, Esteban Ocon was given a drive-through after trying to overtake Tom Blomqvist who had to abandon. Jordan King (Carlin) was thus able to recover second position ahead of Lucas Auer (Mücke Motorsport) while the safety car was forced to come out on track once again. Jake Dennis (Carlin) finished just off the podium ahead of Santino Ferrucci (Eurointernational) who was only taking part in his second meeting in F3 European Championship
