F3 – Callum Ilott wins at the Red Bull Ring

Callum Ilott (Prema Powerteam) dominated the first race of the F3 European Championship at Red Bull Ring by maintaining the lead of the event until the checkered flag after starting from pole. The Briton resisted the attacks of Joel Eriksson (Motopark) to achieve his fifth success of the season by winning with almost two seconds ahead of the Swede.

Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam) completed the podium without being able to claim a better position at the finish. The German has regained three points from the Championship leader Lando Norris (Carlin) who finished at the foot of the podium and who maintains a lead of 70 units with five races remaining in the season.

Mick Schumacher (Prema Powerteam) made a strong comeback to take seventh place behind Tadasuke Makino (HitechGP) and Ferdinand Habsburg (Carlin). The son of the seven-time world champion notably benefited from the clash between Harrison Newey (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Nikita mazepin (HitechGP) occurred at the entrance to turn 3.
