Callum Ilott took pole for Race 1 of the F3 European Championship at the Red Bull Ring, Lance Stroll dominated the second session.

F3 – Ilott and Stroll on pole at Spielberg

Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing) took pole for Race 1 of the F3 European Championship in Spielberg. Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam) had won pole but his best time was deleted for failure to respect the yellow flags and he will start from second position. Ben Barnicoat (Hitech GP) and Lance stroll (Prema Powerteam) will start on the second row.

Mikkel Jensen (Mücke Motorsport) is fifth ahead of Joel Erikson (Motopark). The Swede was due to start in first position, but his best time was canceled for not respecting the track limits. Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing) is 17th.

In the second qualifying session which determines the grids for the last two events of the weekend with the two best times, it was Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam) who distinguished himself by winning the two poles.  

The Canadian will start in front of George Russell (Hitech GP), Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Niko Kari (Motopark) in Race 2, while Ilott, David Beckmann (Mücke Motorsport) and the Finn will be his closest rivals in the last grid of the weekend. Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing) will start from 17th and 15th position.
