F3 – Macau: Callum Ilott winner of the qualifying race

The start offers two diametrically opposed outcomes for the first row: if Joel Eriksson (Motopark) manages to keep his advantage, Lando Norris (Carlin) sinks and finds himself 9e at the first turn. That being said, the Briton begins a comeback by trying to pass his opponents one by one. The reigning champion of Formula 3 European rises to 5e mid-stroke position.

Meanwhile, Callum ilott (Theodore Racing) remains in contact with the Swede at the head of the race and after several unsuccessful attempts, he manages to overtake him at the start of 7e tower outside Mandarin. From then on, the new resident of the Ferrari Driver Academy takes the lead and will no longer be worried.

Unlike the qualifying sessions interrupted by numerous red flags, no incident punctuated this qualifying race, apart from the error of Mick Schumacher (Thedore Racing) who shoots straight at Lisboa while trying to pass Ferdinand Habsburg (Carlin).

Callum Ilott wins the qualifying race in Macau with almost 8 seconds ahead of Joel Eriksson. Coming back at the end of the race, Sergio Sette Câmara (Motopark) took a nice 3e place after his repeated exits from the tracks in qualifying. Maximilian Günther (Theodore Racing) and Ferdinand Habsbourg finished in their starting places ahead of Pedro Piquet (Van Amersfoort Racing) who made a good comeback from 13e position on the grid. Lando Norris has to settle for a 7e place after being passed on the last lap. Daniel Ticktum (Motopark) is 8e ahead of Yuhi Sekiguchi (BMax) and Guan Yu Zhou (Theodore Racing) while Sacha fenestraz (Carlin) finishes best beginner in 12e instead.
