F3 – Pedro Piquet launches with Van Amersfoort Racing

After Max Verstappen, will Van Amersfoort Racing bring about a new “son of” in F3 European Championship? The Dutch team announced the arrival of Pedro Piquet, the son of the three-time world champion F1 Nelson Piquet, for the 2016 season.

The 17-year-old Brazilian notably distinguished himself by winning Brazilian F3 twice. The brother of Nelson Piquet Jr dominated the 2015 season by picking up eight victories in ten starts.

“The F3 European Championship is incredibly competitive with grids of over 30 cars”, underlines Pedro Piquet. “I have the opportunity to develop as a driver in this Championship. We can see that Van Amersfoort Racing is always in the fight for the title by looking at the results of the last seasons. I also appreciate the atmosphere within the team, it’s almost like a family. »

Pedro Piquet will move to the Netherlands in order to be as well prepared as possible for the start of the season. “I will be at a disadvantage on the new circuits, but I will aim for top tens in the second part of the season,” said the new recruit.
