Contested again on a wet track, the second Pau qualifying allowed George Russell (Hitech GP) and Alessio Lorandi (Carlin) to take poles for races 2 and 3, the final round serving as the framework for the Grand Prix of Pau.
Russell was the fastest in his qualifying group thanks to a time set in 1'21"281, enough to beat the best time set in group B by Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing) and sign his first pole in the category. Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing) will start tenth, just like in the Sunday race.
Determined by the second best times of each driver, the grid for the Pau Grand Prix will be led by the Italian Lorandi, also author of his first pole, ahead Lance stroll (Prema Powerteam), author of pole for the first race scheduled for tomorrow morning at 11:15 a.m.
