Bianchi goes it alone

Has Jules Bianchi ever won the championship? Formula 3 Euro Series? If the series has barely passed the halfway point of the season, the Frenchman is collecting victories and prances at the top of the general classification. And, more than the successes, it is the way in which he imposes himself that impresses. By finishing more than thirteen seconds ahead of the trio Bottas – Gutierrez – Bird, the Niçois continued to distance himself from his rivals lap after lap, taking six tenths from them, on average, per lap. Although he benefits from a well-tuned car, Jules Bianchi also shows that his driving is at the origin of his good results, since he was able to outrun his ART Grand Prix teammates. The French team can also congratulate itself on the result of the Nürburgring race, seeing Bianchi once again climb onto the podium, this time accompanied by Valterri Bottas and Esteban Gutierrez, for a 100% ART podium!

With this sixth victory of the season, in eleven races, Jules Bianchi soars in the F3 Euro Series standings. He now has a 28-point lead over his closest rival, Christian Vietoris. The German will, however, be able to try to make up part of his deficit during the second race, Sunday morning (start at 10:30 a.m.). Eighth this Saturday, Vietoris will have the advantage of starting at the head of the second round of the Nürburgring, to glean the six points for victory. But, whatever the result on Sunday, Jules Bianchi will leave the Nürburgring with a consolidated lead.

At the end of this race, however, Jules Bianchi dismissed any feeling of triumphalism. “ It wasn?t that simple! I attacked from the start to create a gap on the drivers behind me. My car was fantastic once again and I'm happy to have won the race. Tomorrow I will start from eighth place trying to score some points. 28 points ahead in the drivers' standings is a lot, but there are still nine races to go. We must continue to work like this, now is not the time to relax. »
