C1 – Piastri solid winner in Formula Renault Eurocup at the Nürburgring
Oscar piastri (R-ace GP) had an ideal Saturday. The 18-year-old Australian, not content with starting from pole position in Race 1 at the Nürburgring (Germany), pocketed the points reserved for the winner, Saturday August 31. Here he is now 15 points ahead of his direct pursuer, Victor Martins (MP Motorsport), fifth at the finish.
“It was a difficult victory to achieve, explained the championship leader. My start was far from perfect, but I preserved second place until I took a chance on Patrik Pasma (Arden, 2nd). I was confident about my pace in the race. »
The overtaking maneuver was daring. “I tried the interior multiple times, it didn’t work. SO I tried to pass him on the outside while braking for the first corner.. It was great and fair play. »
