Edoardo Mortara takes off

Edoardo Mortara (Signature) was unstoppable this Saturday. And yet, after taking pole position on Friday, the Italian confided that this circuit was not one of his favorites. This Saturday, the winner of the last Grand Prix F3 from Macau got off to a perfect start to get his second victory of the season, his fifth podium in five races. On the other hand, Daniel Juncadela (Prema Powerteam), who started in second position and author of a stolen start, was unable to confirm his good intentions. It's the Finn Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix) who finished second.

« My pole was the determining element of my victory, says Mortara. The circuit is quite slow and there are few overtaking possibilities. So, when you have a good place on the grid, you get a good start and you don't make any mistakes, it becomes difficult for the drivers who follow. Despite this victory, I am not thinking about the championship. I take the races one after the other. When you finish on the podium as often as possible, the rest comes by itself. »

Even if he was not thinking about the championship, Edoardo Mortara carried out a good operation. Before the second race of the weekend takes place, the Italian driver is certain to leave Valencia as leader of the discipline. Above all, after obtaining his fifth podium, Mortara appears to be the strong man at the start of the season.
