Eurocup: Alex Quinn wins a funny race 2

On a wet but drying track, the tire choices were absolutely crucial. And in this little game, it was Alex Quinn (Arden) who did well to achieve his first success in Formula Renault ahead of Ugo De Wilde (Arden) and Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix).

Eurocup: Alex Quinn wins a funny race 2

We too often tend to complain about the lack of spectacle in Eurocup races, because of cars that are perhaps a little too heavy and lack DRS and a “push to pass” button. So when the weather conditions add a little spice to it all, we can only take advantage of it.

Imagine, the first three in a race, falling to 8th, 11th and 13th respectively after only two laps… this is exactly what happened to Victor Martins, Franco Colapinto and Caio Collet. The three men in fact chose to start on dry tires and chose to focus on the end of the race, on a wet but drying track.

So obviously, when it was time to set off, facing a horde correctly shod with rain tires, the first laps were complicated. But they were to their advantage at the end of the race on a completely dry trajectory in sectors 1 and 3. In the end, Victor Martins (4th) took four points from Caio Collet (R-ace GP, 6th), which brings his lead at the top of the championship is 26 units, after the six points regained the day before in race 1.

Today's performance is to the credit of Alex Quinn. The Briton (Arden) is the one who best managed the elements to easily win his first victory in the category ahead of Ugo De Wilde (Arden) and Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix) after starting from 11th place! Hadrien David (MP Motorsport) and Reshad de Gerus (Arden) finished 14th and 15th respectively.
