Eurocup: Colombo on pole for race 2 at Le Castellet

Lorenzo Colombo (Bhaitech) is definitely in his sights for Paul Ricard. The Italian driver, author of two poles and two victories here in 2019, once again proved his ease on the Var track by winning the first qualifying session of the weekend. He will therefore start from pole position for Race 2 on Sunday. 

At his side, the record holder for pole positions in a Formula season Renault (10) will try to get on the inside at the first turn. As a reminder, the French driver simply needs seven points to secure the champion title. He could therefore be crowned from the race on Saturday afternoon, for which qualifying will take place on Saturday morning. 

The only driver who can still deprive him of the title, Caio Collet (R-Ace GP) will start 3rd, after having beaten Alex Quinn (Arden) by only 12 thousandths. 5th of the day's two free practice sessions, Hadrien David (MP Motorsport) qualified 9th. For his big debut in Formula Renault, Elias Seppanen (R-Ace GP) took a promising 10th position.
