Eurocup: Martins wins, Collet abandons

We may have just experienced a turning point in this Formula season Renault. After coming back to eight points behind Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) by winning Race 1 on Saturday, Caio Collet started alongside the French poleman this Sunday in Race 2.

Attacking the Tricolore throughout the first lap, the Auriverde saw its race stop after only a few turns, taken on by a David Vidales (JD Motorsport) in distress after having locked his wheels and lost control of his vehicle. car

Behind, Victor Martins perfectly contained Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport) to take twenty-five points for victory and a seventh success this season. Over the entire weekend, the Frenchman gained ten points from the unfortunate Caio Collet and increased his lead to 33 points at the top of the championship, with two rounds remaining.

But this Sunday, Martins was not the only Frenchman on the box, since Hadrien David (MP Motorsport), who started 4th, took advantage of the incident between Vidales and Collet to get on the podium for the first time in his career in Formula Renault. The native of Royan confirms his good progress for several weeks, with a fifth Top 10 in six races. His compatriot Reshad de Gerus (Arden) finished 12th.
