European F3 Open – Cougnaud at RP Motorsport

After the beginnings car in Formul'Academy Euro Series 2009, then two seasons of FR 2.0 with Arta Engineering in the MEC then ALPS championship, Alexandre Cougnaud competed in the European Open F3 with the only French team entered, Top F3. Finally reaching the third step of the Copa podium with his Dallara F308, the driver from Sables d'Olonne will this time aim for absolute podiums.

Cougnaud is the only French driver to date entered in an F3 championship, and precisely in one, coupled with the International GT Open, which requires much smaller budgets than those required for the FIA European championship. Alexandre reached an agreement with the Italian team led by Fabio Pampado and based near Piacenza. RP Motorsport is none other than the reigning champion team of teams and drivers, its duo composed of the Italian Niccolò Schirò and the Canadian Gianmarco Raimondo having achieved the double.

Cougnaud, who is continuing his studies in the 3rd year at the La Rochelle Business School, will have one of the Dallara F312/Toyota, the other being intended for the Uruguayan Santiago Urrutia, 4th in the 2012 Formula Abarth championship.

The two RP Motorsport F308s will be driven by Spaniard Alex Toril and Venezuelan Andrea Cicconetti.
