F. Renault Eurocup – Smolyar wins at Hockenheim, Martins loses big

Alexander Smolyar (R-ace GP) won the second Formula race under heavy rain Renault Eurocup in Hockenheim (Germany). The Russian signs his second victory of the season after Monaco.

This performance, however, was relegated behind the title duel between Victor Martins (MP Motorsport) and Oscar piastri (R-ace GP). Winner the day before, the Frenchman started from pole position and was able to regain leadership against the Australian.

Passed by Alexander Smolyar a quarter of an hour from the finish, Victor Martins seemed in a good position to score the points for second place and finally overtake his rival in the championship.

However, on the penultimate lap, Caio Collet (R-ace GP) attempted an attack. The two residents of the Renault Sport Academy touched each other, went offshore. The Brazilian preserved his third place while Victor Martins fell to sixth position.

A very bad operation because at the same time, Oscar Piastri moved up to second! The gap widens significantly in the championship.
