F3 – Alex Lynn, the surprise of the Macau GP

Alex Lynn shines by winning pole in the Sprint race at the Macau Grand Prix with a time of 2’13”122. The Fortec Motorsports driver, made official at Prema Powerteam for the next season of F3 Euro Series, took advantage of the start of the session to achieve his time before the session was disrupted by several accidents. Lucas Auer (Van Amersfoort) caused the first red flag before the one brought out by the identical exit of Felipe Nasr (Carlin) which ended the session. “I’m really happy with this result.”, comments the pole sitter who took fourth place in the British F3 Championship. “I was able to make a clear turn without losing control. »

The closest rivals did not have time to improve their times and Antonio Félix da Costa (Carlin) was 278 thousandths behind. Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam), F3 Euro Series and International Trophy champion and last winner of the Macau Grand Prix, failed on the second row with only a thousandth behind the Portuguese. The gaps are very tight since Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport) is not ahead Carlos Sainz Jr (Carlin) also with a thousandth lead, the four drivers being grouped in two hundredths. Despite his accident, Felipe Nasr was still able to set the sixth fastest time. Harry Tincknell (Fortec Motorsports), Pascal Wehrlein (Mücke Motorsports), Daniel Abt (Carlin) and Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam) complete the top ten.
