F3 Asia: Zhou and Chovet on pole in Dubai

Very comfortable during the collective tests and the free practices which took place earlier in the week, Pierre-Louis Chovet (Pinnacle Motorsport) was the most consistent driver during the two qualifying phases of the first round of the Asian F3. The Frenchman dominated Q2 ahead of Roy Nissany (Hitech) and Dino Beganovic (Abu Dhabi Racing Team), which will allow him to start on pole for Race 3.

The Tricolor, who has just been announced in FIA F3 in 2021 with Jenzer Motorsport, will also start on the front row for Race 1. While he dominated the entire Q1, the experienced Chinese Guanyu-Zhou (Abu Dhabi Racing Team) took pole away from him by 45 thousandths. He is the only driver to have inserted himself between the three drivers of F2, Zhou, Jehan Daruvala and Roy Nissany.

Note the great performance for his debut in this car from the other Frenchman Isack Hadjar. After making P1 and P2 in the free practice sessions, Isack qualified 5th and 9th. Please note that the starting grid for Race 2 will be governed by the best times achieved in Race 1.
