Briton Ben Barnicoat made good use of the wet Pau track to bag his second success of the season.

F3-C1: Barnicoat winner in Pau

Winner of the last round at the Hungaroring, Ben Barnicoat (Hitech GP) did not miss the opportunity to score a second consecutive victory in the European Championship. F3 this morning in the streets of Pau.

Taking advantage of a bad start from the poleman Lance stroll (Prema Powerteam), the Briton took control of the race ahead of Pream Powerteam drivers Maximilian Günther and Nick Cassidy and quickly built up a solid lead.

The Chinese Zhi Cong Li (Carlin)'s trip into the barriers reduced the leader's lead to zero, but on the restart, Barnicoat held off Günther and Cassidy to race towards victory. Behind the winner, Nick Cassidy, thanks to a superb pass from the outside on Günther, finished second ahead of his teammate.

George Russell (Hitech GP) finished in 4th place and ahead of Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing), Mikkel Jensen (Mücke Motorsport), Ryan Tveter (Carlin), Sergio Sette Camara (Motopark), Lance Stroll and Alessio Lorandi (Carlin). Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing) takes 12th place.

The second race of the weekend will take place at 15:50 p.m.
