F3-C1: Callum Ilott on pole at Pau

In the streets of the city of Pau, Callum Ilott set off at the best pace this Friday. Author of the reference times in free practice, the Briton from Prema Powerteam once again dominated the peloton of the European Championship of F3 for the first qualifying sessions of the weekend, determining the starting grid for Race 1.

Dominant in the first qualifying group with a lap set in 1'09"514, the former resident of Van Amersfoort Racing was ahead of Joel Eriksson (Motopark) and Joey Mawson (Van Amersfoort Racing) by more than three tenths, achieving a benchmark which will not be beaten by the competitors of the second group, led by Lando Norris (Pug).

The Briton could not do better than a best lap of 1'09″724 but will start on the front row alongside Ilott. The second row will be shared between Eriksson and Maximilian Günther (Prema Powerteam), who will be followed by Mawson and Jake Dennis (Carlin).

Mick Schumacher (Prema Powerteam), 7th time in group A, will start from 13th position. The first race will take place tomorrow at 11:10 a.m.
