F3 – C1: Lance Stroll takes a Prema quadruple

Lance stroll won Race 1 of the F3 European Championship at Hockenheim after having engaged in an intense fight with his teammates at the start of the race. The pole-sitter faced Maximilian Günther and Nick Cassidy after failing to brake at turn 2 and made contact with the German who dropped back to third place before he regained the advantage over the Neo- Zealanders.

The reigning champion celebrated his 12th victory of the season but he could be penalized, with the stewards investigating his clash with Maximilian Günther.

Ralf Aron finished just off the podium and gave the Prema Powerteam a perfect result, the Italian team signing a quadruple.

Sergio Sette Camara (Motopark) completed the top five, preceding his teammate Joel Eriksson who won his duel with Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing). The Frenchman ultimately finished 10th behind HitechGP riders George Russell, Nikita mazepin and Alexander Sims after receiving a five-second penalty for incorrectly placing himself on the grid.

Lando Norris (Carlin), the new Eurocup Formula champion Renault 2.0, retired after moving up to 13th position. The Briton, who started from the pits for his first start in F3, had to dismount following contact with Pedro Piquet (Van Amersfoort Racing).
