F3-C1: Stroll without rival at Zandvoort

Dispossessed of his poles for races 2 and 3 for technical non-confirmation, Lance stroll (Prema Powerteam) provided the best response this morning by dominating without any possible dispute the first race of the Zandvoort meeting.

With a 100% Prema Powerteam first line, we expected a car Italian in the lead after the first turn of the Dutch track. On pole for this race 1, Nick Cassidy decided to move away as soon as the lights went out to secure his position against Maximilian Günther. But it’s their teammate Lance Stroll who was the most responsive, and came to overtake the two leading cars on the outside of the Tarzan corner, quickly widening the gap in the process.

Cassidy retained second place ahead of Alessio Lorandi (Carlin) and Maximilian Günther, the big loser of the starting procedure. The latter will remain one of the great entertainers of the event, with a fight until the checkered flag against Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing), who despite a small error in the penultimate lap of the German , will not be able to grab fourth place.

In the lead, Lance Stroll crossed the finish line with a comfortable lead of eight seconds over his runner-up Nick Cassidy who gave Prema Powerteam the double. Alessio Lorandi completes the podium ahead of Günther and Ilott.

Niko Kari (Motopark) finished 6th ahead of George Russell (Hitech GP) and Ryan Tveter (Carlin). Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing) takes the points for ninth place ahead of David Beckmann (Mücke Motorsport).
