F3 – C2: Marciello flies, Rosenqvist collapses

Did he need this? In addition to being quite simply a level above the competition this weekend at the Nürburgring, Raffaele Marciello took advantage during the second race this Saturday of the failure of Felix Rosenqvist, his main rival in the championship, to score again big points in his quest for the title. Indeed, where the Italian from Prema Powerteam once again started perfectly from pole position, the Swede made a catastrophic start only to be overtaken by a large number of drivers.

Well installed in the lead, the protégé of the Ferrari Driver Academy, however, had no room for error, Luis Felipe Derani (Fortec Motorsports) being particularly quick and pressing behind him. The Italian will hold on until the end to score a 9th victory this season, the second of the day. Unable to take the advantage, the Brazilian finished 2nd, which is his best result of the season. Second in C1, Alexander Sims (Threebond with T-Sport) took another podium in a row with a 3rd place.

In a constant battle in the soft underbelly of the field, Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport) fought hard to secure a 9th place and the two points that go with it. Arriving in Germany 24,5 points behind Marciello, he now has 57,5. The start of the final race of this weekend will be given at 11 a.m. Paris time this Sunday.
