F3-C2: Marco Wittmann shines at home

After a bad start from pole sitter Alon Day (HS Engineering), Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam) was the early leader of the second race at the Norisring. But the Spaniard gave in to the German's pressure by making a slight error, allowing the Signature driver to take the lead of the race until the finish.

The winner is delighted to win at home, while he will start from pole in the last race contested tomorrow. “At least I won my race at the Norisring”, exclaims Marco Wittmann. ?At the start, I had more or less the same pace as Roberto. But I was then able to take advantage of an error on his part to take off. »

Roberto Merhi thus finished second ahead of his teammate Daniel Juncadella, who took advantage of the 30-second penalty imposed on Daniel Abt (Signature) for colliding with Nigel Melker (Mücke Motorsport), winner of the first race. The Dutchman retired one lap from the goal.
