F3 – Callum Ilott loses his poles at the Norisring

The fight for the title continues in F3 European Championship Lance stroll (Prema Powerteam) and Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing), the two leaders of the Championship, won the three qualifying sessions at the Norisring.

Lance Stroll, who has a 38-point lead, dominated the first session which determines the grid for Race 1. The Canadian, who won his fifth pole of the season, completed a lap in 48''148 and managed to get ahead of almost two tenths his direct rival for the coronation. Joel Eriksson and his teammate Guanyu-Zhou (Motopark) followed ahead of Nick Cassidy (Prema) and George Russell (Hitech GP). Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing) set the 13th time.

The Briton launched the response by setting the two best times in the second session. The Van Amersfoort Racing resident beat Anthoine Hubert in Race 2 while the pole sitter from the first race took third position. The Frenchman and the Canadian will reverse places for the start of the last race of the weekend.

However, Callum Ilott will have to drop ten places on the grid for the three races this weekend due to an engine change. Anthoine Hubert and Lance Stroll thus won a pole on the green carpet and the Canadian will have a great opportunity to increase his lead.
