F3 – Pug, between experience and youth

Carlin preferred to concentrate on the F3 European following the reduction in the number of events in British F3 with only four meetings on the program. The British team will field four single-seaters which will give pride of place to English drivers. Harry Tincknell remains with the team with which he took fifth place in the National Championship last year with four victories and nine podiums. Jann Mardenborough impressed Trevor Carlin by shining in Blancpain Endurance Series and in the British GT Series after winning the Nissan GT Academy in 2011, but the 21-year-old driver will take his first steps in car. Jordan King is the third Briton entered, the latter having notably finished vice-champion of the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC with one victory and nine podiums. The crew is completed by the Canadian Nicholas latifi who competed last year in Italian F3, taking seventh place in the Championship.

Trevor Carlin makes no secret of the fact that the reduced British F3 calendar has pushed his team to focus its program on European F3, freshly refurbished by the FIA. With a crew mainly made up of rookies, Henry Tincknell will be the spearhead of the British team. “Although we had drivers interested in British F3, circumstances have meant that we are now focusing on the European F3 Championship and I am really pleased to have four talented drivers for this new season. Harry (Tincknell) is making a superb return to the team and his experience in F3 will be very important. We have high hopes for him this year. Nicholas (Latifi) begins a new turning point in his learning because almost all the circuits will be new to him. It will be about learning as much as possible for him this year, as will also be the case for Jann (Mardenborough) who only has one competitive season behind him. Jordan (King) will also be an F3 rookie but I can't wait to see what surprises he can bring us this season. »
