F3 – Felix Rosenqvist scores a double at the Red Bull Ring

Felix Rosenqvist added two new successes to his list of achievements in F2 European Championship by winning the two Saturday races contested on the Red Bull Ring. The Swede twice got rid of pole sitter Daniil Kvyat (Carlin) to take the lead. In Race 1, the Mücke Motorsport resident was not at all worried as he crossed the finish line 12 seconds ahead of the Russian. Jordan King (Carlin) completed the podium, while Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam) made up for it by taking fourth place after only starting from 13th position. Nicholas latifi (Carlin) completed the top five ahead of Sven Müller (ma-con) and Alex Lynn (Prema Powerteam).

Race 2 was more lively in the peloton even if Felix Rosenqvist once again dominated the race. The red flag was in fact displayed four laps from the finish following an accident between Alex Lynn (Prema Powerteam) and Luis Felipe Derani (Fortec Motorsports). If Lucas Wolf (URD Rennsport) had taken the advantage over the pole sitter, the latter was able to pass the German driver to take another second place while the German completed the podium. By failing just outside the top ten, Raffaele Marciello saw his lead shrink to 42,5 points over the winner of the day, whereas he had an 80,5 point lead over the Swede upon arriving in Austria. But the pilot of the Ferrari Driver Academy will be able to reassure itself tomorrow by starting from the first row in front of its main opponent.
