F3 – Marciello had the last word against Rosenqvist

By securing fourth place at the end of the second race of the F3 European Championship at Hockenheim, Raffaele Marciello won enough points to ensure the title against Felix Rosenqvist who fought tooth and nail after his failed weekend in Vallelunga by taking victory in the first two events of the weekend. It's a relief for the Italian who could still fear a turnaround as the Championship proved uncertain. “This race was strange to experience because I really didn’t attack”, explains the champion. “I didn't resist at the start, I let Lucas (Auer) pass and above all I paid attention to the yellow flags and the racing line because I really didn't want to be penalized. This season has been very long and very competitive. Felix was a hell of an opponent. Today I really want to thank the Team Ferrari and the Ferrari Driver Academy for the support they give me. We must also congratulate Prema Powerteam. Alex (Lynn) and Lucas are still proving today the level we have reached this season within this team, where the atmosphere has always been perfect. It's going to take me a little time to realize. »

There was obviously disappointment on the side of Mücke Motorsport, Felix Rosenqvist having shown superb combativeness against the resident of the Ferrari Driver Academy. In any case, the Swede has nothing to reproach himself for this weekend, adding two successes to his record. “It was a strange race. I widened the gap then I made a lot of mistakes by locking the wheels almost every lap? I also took a warning so I had to be careful. In short, I win, but that doesn't change anything. I would like to congratulate Raffaele on his season. He had a better year than me, so even if it was close until the end, he deserves this title. I would have liked it to be decided in the last race, but is that how it is? I don't know where I will evolve next season, but it's certain that I learned a lot this season and that I will learn from it. »
