F3 – Niko Kari wins at Imola, Prema titled

Niko Kari (Motopark) won his first victory in F3 European Championship by winning Race 1 at Imola against the pole sitter Lance stroll (Prema Powerteam). The resident of Red Bull Junior Team benefited from the second intervention of the safety car following the retirement of David Beckmann (Mücke Motorsport), the first being due to the exit of the track of Pedro Piquet (Van Amersfoort Racing).

The Finn maintained the advantage over the Canadian with almost eight tenths ahead at the finish line. The contender for the starting position at Williams Racing still offers the Teams title to the Prema structure, crowned earlier in the morning with the same coronation in GP2Series.

The leader of the Championship carried out a very good operation since his direct opponent and teammate Maximilian Günther only took 12th place. The German is now 125 points behind with five races remaining in the season.

Joel Eriksson (Motopark) completed the podium after gaining three places in the peloton. The Swede beat Nick Cassidy (Prema Powerteam) and George Russell (Hitech GP). Anthoine Hubert (Van Amersfoort Racing) finished sixth ahead of Guanyu-Zhou (Motopark), Ralf Aron (Prema Powerteam), Ben Barnicoat (HitechGP) and Mikkel Jensen (Mücke Motorsport).
