F3: Roberto Merhi starts strong

Starting in second place on the grid, Roberto Merhi got the better of pole sitter Daniel Juncadella and took the lead of the race from the first corner. The Spaniard managed to protect his position to win the first race of the weekend by winning with less than a second ahead of his teammate. Tom Dillmann (Motopark) failed to reach the podium after starting from 7th place on the grid.

The winner insists on the good performance of his team's single-seaters. “The race was really good and relatively easy”, comments the Spaniard after crossing the finish line. “I was able to open up a slight gap on Daniel, but he managed to come back in the second part of the race. The set-up of the car was superb and so was our result. »

Daniel Juncadella is satisfied with his second place at the finish, even if he was not able to benefit from his pole. “I am happy with this second place, even if I would have preferred to win the race after my pole. However, my start was not good, even though it was the key to victory. »
