F3 – Rosenqvist and Giovinazzi on pole in Austria

Felix Rosenqvist and Antonio Giovinazzi shared pole positions at the Austrian Red Bull Ring in the European F3 Championship.

F3 – Rosenqvist and Giovinazzi on pole in Austria

The first qualifying session held this Friday in Austria on the Red Bull Ring allowed the stable Prema Powerteam? Mercedes, who had led the Frenchman Esteban Ocon title last year, to achieve a hat-trick on the starting grid of the first race of the European Championship F3.

The Swedish Felix rosenqvist had narrowly dominated the session with a best time set in 1'24"510, enough to beat his teammate Jake Dennis by seven thousandths. Lance stroll completed the Italian team's group shot and will start tomorrow morning on the second row alongside championship leader Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin? Volkswagen).

Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing? Volkswagen) will start from 5th position. For this first race, Alex Albon hoisted his car from the Signature stable? Volkswagen in eighth position.

The second qualifying session allowed Rosenqvist to secure a new pole position (in 1'24″395) for the second race ahead of Giovinazzi and Stroll, while the championship leader will start from pole in race 3, thanks to his best second time. On the French side, Brandon Maisano (Prema Powerteam) took 14th place for race 1, while Dorian Boccolacci (Signature) will start 18th.
