He was not among the favorites to win the 79th Grand Prix of Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) this Sunday, May 8, but Vladislav Lomko was able to take advantage of a better start and the lack of discernment of pole sitter Oliver Goethe to win.

Born in Russia on December 27, 2004, Vladislav Lomko chose a French license to continue racing in Euroformula Open despite the war in Ukraine triggered by Russia and the sanctions against Russian drivers taken by the FIA. It is also in France that Vladislav Lomko has lived since he was 14 years old. In 2019, he completed six F4 France races, without scoring a point. His best final result in single-seaters and a sixth place in German F4 in 2021.

The CryptoTower Racing team driver is ahead of Christian Mansell (Motopark, no connection with Nigel Mansell and Oliver Goethe, who was able to find the opening at the Poeymirau hairpin on Filip Ugran (Motopark).

Vladislav Lomko joins prestigious names on the Pau Grand Prix prize list such as Juan Manuel Fangio, Jim Clark, Juan Pablo Montoya or Lewis Hamilton. This is officially the first French victory at the Grand Prix of Pau (FR) for Romain Grosjean in 2006.

“I am very happy to win this prestigious meeting. On Saturday, my start in Race 1 was difficult but we worked a lot to improve this point, and it worked. »
