F3?C1: Alex Lynn holds off Marciello at Brands Hatch

Alex Lynn enjoyed his first victory in F3 European Championship at the end of Race 1 at Brands Hatch. The Briton, who started from pole in front of Championship leader Raffaele Marciello, resisted the pressure exerted by the rider during the 51 laps. Ferrari Driver Academy and is 88 points behind his teammate who still has a comfortable lead in the Drivers' standings, his direct rival Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport) only taking fourth place.

Lucas Auer took third place, securing a superb hat-trick for the Prema Powerteam. The Austrian was overtaken by Sven Müller (Ma-con) in the race, but the German retired with a mechanical problem. Harry Tincknell (Carlin) was thus able to complete the top five ahead of Tom Blomqvist (Eurointernational) and Jordan King (Carlin). Josh Hill (Fortec Motorsports) secured the points for eighth place ahead of William Buller (Threebond with T-Sport) and Daniil Kvyat (Carlin). Note that Michael Lewis (Mücke Motorsport) was not at the start following his accident the day before. However, the American was released from the hospital without any serious injuries.
